EXPORT OF SERVICES
The services assistance has turned today in one of the economy’s matters that has shown more Sustainable growth, this is hardly surprising if we takeinto account that the globalization of the markets has benefited significantly our country. In the case of coast cities like Barranquilla, we notice that due to their excellent and strategic location, the businessmen and businesswomen of the city have obtained access into the central and north market with economics and logistics advantages. This is reflected in the low cost of international physics distribution (“DFI” in Spanish) in which fall at the moment of export, just like that in the total or partial exception of customs from a particular product in the importer country. With this horizon, it’s worth not just to focus the efforts that the exports of traditional and not traditional exports are widely accepted, but also must be to strengthen and to promote the export of services in which Colombia possess a great export potential. The exporters of tourist, legal, medical and amongst others services lots of times they do this kind of international activities but without the fully aware of being exporting. This to a great extent is owing to the fact that the less information that is disclosed regarding to the ways of export services and to the regulatory framework that regulates.
In this sense is worth noting that with the creation of the world trade organization, also from this way born the general agreement trade of services –GATS which includes for the commerce of services the same basic rules of the commerce of properties, very well adapted for having in mind the basic differences between the properties and the services and it defined four modalities of services provided, whereby is verified its commerce.
